There is considerable press over what car available on the road today is the most “green” to drive. People are concerned about where they are spending their money, so of course they are also worried about the dollars that they are putting into the gas tank as well as just how eco-friendly the car that they are driving is.
However, it seems that unless the car companies decide to overhaul their manufacturing capabilities completely, the hybrids and the smaller cars available today aren’t that much better than the gas guzzling SUV’s that still hog the roads.
A word to the wise, there is a car you need to take a look at, especially if you are intent on cutting back on your fuel consumption and reducing your carbon footprint, however, there’s just one catch, it’s not available yet.
There is a small Canadian company by the name of ZENN that unveiled a purely electric vehicle that is capable for highway travel in late 2009. The company plans to up production of this car to get it out to consumers in 2010. However, the big difference here between this car and other electric vehicles has been the ability for an electric charge to hold a charge for any considerable length of time. ZENN has done some considerable research and improvements in this area and the electric car will be able to travel up to 250 miles topping out at 80 miles per hour.
It’s easy to believe that in ten years time, there are going to be electric vehicles all over the road, in the mean time, the ZENN electric car will be perfect for the person who commutes back and forth to work, cutting down on your gas and reducing your carbon footprint.
